What we offer

Vesna understands that life circumstances can make it challenging to access psychological care.

She has dedicated her practice and PhD research to remote treatment and offers therapy via videoconference or phone, making treatment accessible to those who are unable to travel, have full-time caregiving or work responsibilities, live in a remote location, or are too busy to access in-person treatment.

As a small, telehealth-based psychology practice, we intentionally keep our client load low to ensure that every individual receives the time, attention, and support they deserve. This approach allows us to truly focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and creating a safe, comfortable environment where healing can thrive. By offering flexible telehealth sessions, we make it easier for you to access care from the comfort of your own space.

Whether you're looking for help with anxiety, depression, or life transitions, we're here to support you on your journey to well-being, one step at a time.

Vesna has effectively supported individuals across a diverse range of challenges including:

  • Anxiety and related disorders - generalised anxiety (GAD), social anxiety (SAD), panic, agoraphobia, illness anxiety

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • Depression and related mood disorders

  • Trauma and stressor related disorders - post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), stress, workplace stress and burnout, adjustment to life changes, motor vehicle accidents

 FAQs

  • Fees and Rebates:

We adhere to the fees set by the Australian Psychological Society. The current fee for treatment is $311 per session, with each session lasting between 45 and 50 minutes.

Medicare offers a rebate for up to 10 individual mental health services each calendar year. For sessions with an endorsed clinical psychologist, the rebate amount is $141.85, resulting in an out-of-pocket expense of $169.15 per session.

To access this rebate, please schedule an appointment with your GP to obtain a Mental Health Plan and a referral letter before attending your first session.

If you have private health insurance, you may also be eligible for a rebate. Please note that you cannot claim both Medicare and private health insurance for the same session.

    Payment Method:

Payments are processed electronically after your session. Any Medicare rebates will be processed and returned to you electronically. Your credit/debit card details will be requested at the time of booking.

    Cancellation Policy:

Due to the personalised nature of the practice and the limited number of clients seen at any given time, a cancellation policy is essential.

Each appointment is reserved for focused, individualised care, and late cancellations can potentially disrupt the therapeutic process and prevent others from receiving support. Your understanding helps us provide the best care possible.

We kindly request at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellations.

Please note that cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a fee of half the standard session rate.

Additionally, a no-show will result in a charge for the full session fee, unless there are genuine extenuating circumstances.

Please note that cancellation fees are not subsidised by Medicare.

  • The number of sessions required varies depending on your individual concerns. Some individuals may find relief after just a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term treatment. We will discuss this in detail during your first appointment to better understand your needs and treatment goals. Typically, most standard cognitive behavioural treatment protocols take 10 to 15 sessions, while some brief interventions can take as few as 4 to 6 sessions.

  • A clinical psychologist is a mental health professional who specialises in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of various psychological and emotional disorders. Their primary focus is on helping individuals improve their mental health and well-being. They have typically completed between 6 and 10 years of tertiary education (including supervised practice) and a 2-year registrar program.

  • No, a referral is not required to make an appointment. If you choose to see us privately, you can do so without a referral. However, if you wish to receive a Medicare rebate, you will need a referral along with a Mental Health Care Plan.

  • The type of treatment offered depends on your specific concerns. While most issues can be effectively addressed through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Vesna may also incorporate techniques from Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness as needed. This tailored approach ensures that your treatment aligns with your individual needs and goals.

  • Currently, in-person sessions are not available. Our focus is on providing access to those who are unable to receive in-person treatment, ensuring that everyone has the support they need.

  • While Vesna has previously enjoyed working with children and adolescents, her current focus is working with adults. You must be 18 years or older to attend sessions.

  • Due to the remote nature of the practice and our commitment to client safety, we regret that we cannot accommodate high-risk cases. We are unable to accept individuals with a recent history of self-harm or suicidal ideation. For suitable referrals, please consult your general practitioner.

In the event of a mental health emergency, please contact your GP, Lifeline (13 11 14) for 24-hour crisis support, or call 000.
